We
found Scuba on the day my husband and I had certified for beginning
scuba diving. We were at my parent's house completing the final step
for the certification and we heard a sound like a bird that had fallen
out of a tree. As this tiny kitten climbed over the fence to the sounds
of our voices, he looked like a brown tabby. We gave him some food and
he growled at the food as he ate and he was so young he still kneaded as
he ate. On the way home he crawled up onto my shoulder to sleep. When
we got home, I cleaned him up to discover he was an orange tabby with
white marks which could not be seen before. That night he slept on our
bed on my shoulder again. Since we had two other cats we decided to
take Scuba to the SPCA for another family to adopt. I missed him too
much so the next day I went back and paid the fee to get him back. He
still tries to sleep on my shoulder but, it is now very uncomfortable.
He started at about six inches long and less than a pound, now he is
over two feet long and thirteen pounds. This is a picture of Scuba
lying in our 62-pound German Shepherd's kennel. They try to decide who
is dominant. Scuba usually wins and our German Shepherd goes and will
lay down elsewhere.
