Milo
is an almost four-year-old boy cat. He definitely qualifies as a
domestic longhair although he does show many, many, characteristics of
the Nebelung, especially in the temperament department.
Looking for a cat to share my apartment, I saw Milo on the local SPCA
website just before Christmas 2005. He seemed perfect is every way: three
years old, clean, responding well to "No", sweet and affectionate, happy
to be brushed and to have his nails clipped. His only "bad" quality was
an extreme shyness with strangers. All in all, it turns out that the
description was very accurate.
To this day I wonder how it was that he spent 20 depressing days in the
cage, waiting for a new owner. Maybe it was fated that we meet. Since he
moved in, he's gained weight -but not too much!-, acquired a beautiful
coat and is the most playful cat I've met. He can log hours on the
feather boa, catching foam balls (I wish he'd bring them back...) or
running after the laser pointer red dot. He's now allowed to visit the
balcony, something he relishes. Not really interested in going down the
stairs, he does scope out the territory below him and loves catching
insects and spiders. He's perfect I tell you!
