Bug
is a midget (but not by design!). Bug was feral when I found him; he was
a few days old. As he grew older, I realized that he has achondroplasia,
or dwarfism. He broke two of his legs before he was six months old, but
recovered after being in a cast for about a month, both times. He snorts
and chortles constantly, and instead of a cat's meow, he sounds more
like a frog. He is a little beastie to the other cats, but he
loves to snuggle, and spends most of his time sitting on his
heating pad. A fierce and ornery little sweetie-pie!
His favorite pastime is fetching his toys - he will run back and forth
for hours, if you keep throwing the toy. He loves to play with his
little fur-covered mice, until he gets hungry, tears off the furry skin,
and tries to eat it. He has an insatiable appetite, and enjoys all
foods, from hot peppers to ice cream to pineapple. He cannot chew well,
however, because he has an extra set of teeth that make it
difficult--he's like a little land shark!
He loves to be petted, and is the most affectionate (previously) feral
cat I have ever known. If you put your hand near his face, he just about
falls over to reach it with his head! He is mostly attached to me, since
I am the one who rescued him from under a trailer, but he will sit for
hours on my boyfriend's chest, grinning and purring and shaking his
little whiskers.
