Ella
was found on a neighbor's cousin's doorstep, and was not wanted.
"Callie" at the time, was trespassing on another cat's (Princess's)
territory so they kept her in the garage to keep peace until a new home
could be found. We adopted her at about two months old. At the time, she
had a huge head and a tiny body with long legs. Overall, she was quite
funny looking. At first, Ella shared the house with Baxter, a large
black cat who was not very willing to accept another member of the
family. Though half the size of him she would stalk him and attack his
tail. He would hiss and act annoyed at his new little sister. Baxter
had renal failure and is no longer with us. So, Ella has become the
only kitty member of our household.
Ella has quite a large personality for her size, and is always doing
things to amaze her humans. Ella demands to go outside, as much as she
can, so our family has gotten into the habit of letting her out for a
few hours, only to find her high up in a tree, or chasing her pet
chipmunk, whom she has caught several times, but refuses to harm. She
is not a lap cat. She drops and stretches herself out to her full
length and expects us to stoop to her and rub her tummy and pet her.
She has now become the "princess" of her own castle.
