I
first saw Coco in North Carolina where my parents reside. They have a
woods that backs up to their home and they always have stray wild cats
that they feed. When I was visiting, I saw that one of the cats had had
kittens and this little black and brown furball was perched up on the
porch. Every time we tried to go near her, she would jump and run away.
I was undecided if I wanted her because I had just had to put my
purebred cat down due to an illness with no cure. Well I came back home
that weekend and I would keep calling to see if they had any luck going
near the kitten. Well one day my mom called and said that her and my
dad had caught her, my dad went around the side of the house while my
mom tried to approach her, when my mom got close, the kitten leapt into
the air to escape and my dad stuck a net out and she jumped right into
the net. Poor thing, I know.
Well they got her inside, cleaned her up and drove her up to Virginia to
me. She used to be so tiny, but with some good food and attention she
is up to nine pounds now. She is a complete mess. She is into everything.
She eats constantly and plays with her food too. I love her very much
and I am glad they rescued her from the woods where she might not have
survived for very long. She sleeps with me every night on her side of
the bed and she is always waiting for me when I get home from work. She
is always my Cat of the Day here at home.
