Our
cat's name is Chatner (pronounced "Shatner", as in William) Chatner
came to us from a house full of cats in Innisfail, Alberta. Now he lives
in a household of six people in Calgary.
Chatner likes to chase bottlecaps around the house. If we want to get
his attention, we drop a bottlecap onto the hardwood floor and he comes
running. His favorite silent toy is a Q-tip. Chatner is an avid mouser,
and although we swear he has ADD, he will wait hours for one mouse to
appear. His record kill count is nine mice in one week. Chatner is also known
for sleeping in strange positions. He likes to sleep with his head
upside down, one leg in the air, or on his back with all limbs stretched
out.
Chatner is not shy around strangers. He likes to greet everyone who
comes to the door. He is also fond of using his meow to get our
attention, especially in the morning. If you ever walk by our home, you
will often catch Chatner peaking out of any window. His eyes grow wide
at the sight of birds and he is very curious about loud cars or loud
people.
Chatner is a wonderful and strange cat.
