This
is Aaron - she's a female (with a boy's name, I know! She had a
tough start in life. She was born into a family of 35 wild farm cats on
a cold Sept. day in central South Dakota. She was very small and
socially rejected by the other farm cats. Luckily, she decided to make
a change in her own life. On a cold frosty morning, a very small thin
kitten with no chance for survival, wandered onto the steps of a house
near the farm and cried. The lady living there took her in the house and
asked me if I wanted a kitten. I found out the farm dog chewed on her
like a toy, causing many injuries in her tail and skin. I wasn't
planning on having a wild farm cat for a pet, but I took her to my home,
a 150 mile journey for Aaron.
After just five weeks with our family, she has learned how to sit, fetch,
and come to snapping fingers. She has two dog pals, Austin and Laddi, and
I suspect she thinks she might be a dog. She plays, and eats, and sleeps
and follows the dogs around the house and yard. She has gained a sparkle
in her eyes, and Aaron is getting bigger and stronger every day. Her
eyes are bright, she purrs and plays, she loves to sleep on the
sheepskin pillow with the dogs. She likes to hang onto the tall dog
around his neck and swing like a necklace and go for a ride! Aaron loves
the laser light game too. She likes car rides, strangers, dogs, and
cuddling.
Aaron is a special cat. I feel good that I saved her life, and I am sure
she knows it. She tells me thank you every day with her eyes and
purrrrrrrrrrrrr...
