Miles
Bird (a.k.a. the Birdman) was adopted from the local SPCA. It was
love at first sight. Miles Bird is shy, sweet, and skittish. He likes
feline greenies and even treats that help with furballs. He dislikes
loud noises and people who move too fast.
Miles Bird is a loner, in the sense that he sleeps under the bed (all
day) where he cannot be seen. When he does come out (he's also known as
phantom cat), he's got mad love and goes for intense petting and a bit
of meowing call and response (we've worked out a short conversation). In
return, I press my face against his back and he purrs the loveliest of
purrs. We were told at the shelter that Miles had no claws whatsoever.
Some cruel vet (or other person) removed his back claws. Nonetheless, Miles
likes to jump, run after fake tiny mice, pull along strings and doesn't
seem all that bothered by his lack of nails. His main trick is how he
manages to squeeze himself underneath a very small passageway under the
bed.
