Meet
Kira (a.k.a. "the Princess"), the beautiful tabby who rules over our
domain. We adopted her when she was only six weeks old from the local
animal shelter where she traded-in bars for a complete run on the house!
Since then, she's been 100% housecat, Fabulous Tabulous - living safe
from outdoor-promoted diseases and the city jungle.
Her typical day starts with rousing us early so she can have our bed all
to herself. Later, she lunches next to the refrigerator and then...goes
back to sleep! While very independent, she still loves good company and
loves to hang out with us at night. From her lookout, sprawled on top of
the couch cushions, she makes sure we're on our best behavior. After an
evening of watching NASCAR on TV, she races around the house 'til the
checkered flag falls when she settles into her basket for the night.
Her favorite pastimes include chewing on plastic bags (don't leave a bag
of pretzels out, unless you want to get slimed!) and sleeping under our
comforter even in the heat of summer. Always ready for a photo-op, she
poses on sunny spots of carpet (her own personal tanning bed). Kira is
a special feline to us--she adds a wonderful dimension to our every day
life!
