Bob
is our special little guy. We adopted him from the humane society
back in Indiana. My husband wanted an adult cat who would be more mellow
than a kitten. At the shelter, Bob was the only fully grown cat and he
was in a cage all by himself. We were told that he was the last of a big
bunch of cats left on their doorstep and he had been there several
weeks. They had even halved his adoption fee, he had been there so long.
We took Bob into one of their "meet the animal" rooms. My husband sat in
the chair and Bob immediately jumped on his lap and laid down to get
comfortable. It was then we knew we had found our cat.
Bob is a sweetie, through and through. He loves being near his people
and loves being held like a baby (he even demands it most days!). He
tries to be friends with everybody that he meets. He loves to play with
his toys, including his stuffed arnold schwarzennegar toy and his
stuffed caveman toy. In fact, when one or both of us leaves in the
morning, our absence upsets him and he will walk through the house,
carrying the caveman toy in his mouth, meowing loudly through it. He
even does it some mornings when I'm in the shower (presumably because he
can't find me!).
I still can't imagine why anyone would dump Bob off at a shelter or why
he had been there so long - but I'm glad that we found him!
