Cinco de Mayo, the Cat of the Day
Name: Cinco de Mayo
Age: Two years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Blue Point Birman
Home: Thornhill, Ontario, Canada

I'd like to introduce my stunning blue-eyed kitty ... Ms. Cinco de Mayo. Cinco shares her birthday ... May 5th (and so was appropriately named) with our Mexican friends who celebrate the festivities of Cinco de Mayo day.

Cinco came to live with us when she was almost a year old. She learned to adjust quickly (and think on her feet) to her new feline friend Sealy. Sealy wasn't the friendliest at first, but the two have adjusted quite well. I even sometimes find them grooming each other ... even if it is only just a brief session!

Cinco loves to play - non-stop. She's a fantastic jumper and especially loves to play with toys that involve her jumping three or four feet in the air. The only problem is that Cinco is also a bit clumsy (she sometimes forgets she actually has four legs) - which has esulted in a number of crashes - into the TV, coffee table, sofa, etc. She puts on quite the show! Another favorite pastime of Cinco's is dipping her paws in the toilet - she doesn't drink directly but prefers to get her paws wet and then lick the water off.

Both Sealy and Cinco are indoor cats but that has not stopped Cinco from picking up a boyfriend! There is a neighborhood cat named Felix who comes to visit ... almost daily. They play with each through the glass patio doors. What is funny is that he has no interest in Sealy - she'll be sitting there and all he can do is stare at Cinco and try to engage her in play.

Cinco is definitely my husband's cat - the two have formed a special bond - although I notice of late that she is spending more time around me - perhaps she has learned who really does clean the litterbox!!! My husband nicknamed Cinco ... Winkie and all he has to do is call out "Wink Wink Wink" and it doesn't matter where she is in the house, she will find her way to him.

We are so pleased to have Cinco in our lives and hope she is with us for a very long time.
