Georgie
is about a year old. We inherited him when the young lady who
owned him had to move, and are happy to shares our home with him here in
British Columbia, Canada. We have been told that he is a Snowshoe, and he
does seem to fit the descriptions we find online. Snowshoes are a rather
rare hybrid developed in 1960 by crossing a Siamese with a bicolor
American Shorthair. Characteristics include the white paws for which they
are named, blue eyes and a white triangle around the nose and mouth. They
have the coloration of a Siamese but the more muscular build of a
shorthair.
Georgie is a beautiful animal, both in appearance and temperament. He is
very social and playful, friendly with everyone and other cats, which has
got him into fights with other males. He is also very vocal, like Siamese
cats but even louder - we have no need of an alarm clock since he arrived!
