This
is my cat. His name is Jed Earl. He is a Blue Point Lynx Ragdoll.
He was born on May 31, 2004, so he turns three today on his birthday. Jed
Earl doesn't know he is a cat. He is a real sweetie who keeps me company
since I am disabled, and home all of the time. He loves to sit in the
window, and watch the world go by.
Jed Earl can be very affectionate when he wants to be. He will let us
know when he wants to be loved on by jumping up into our lap, and
head-butting us. He purrs so loud (my husband calls it cadillacing) that
sometimes we have to turn the t.v. up. He loves to hide around the
corners and jump out and grab us when we walk by. He often lays on top
of the bird cage (we have a Goffins Cockatoo and a conure) with his feet
dangling inside. He likes to drink water straight out of the faucet. We
turn the water on so it comes out in a little stream just for him.
He doesn't care much for people coming over and invading his domain. He
will usually disappear until company leaves, and when he comes back out,
he will inspect everything to make sure it is how he left it. He loves
catnip. We put a little bit in the middle of the floor, and he rolls
around in it until it is all stuck in his fur.
Jed Earl likes to lay on top of the computer monitor, and chase the
cursor around the screen. If I am not at the computer, he lays there and
says "moooouuuse..." over and over. He follows us around the house, and
is usually where we are. We have to be careful, because he will wind in
and out around our feet. I am so glad that we added Jed Earl to our
family, and I have come to realize that you don't own a cat, he owns you!
