Moose
has a special place in my heart and he makes me smile.
Like most of my cats, Moose started out life living under my deck and
was probably born there as well. He was born to a mommy cat that
someone decided they did not want any longer. Most of the cats were all
friendly and received good homes. Moose was an unsociable type. He
would sit by the steps and watch me until he felt I was a safe distance
away before he would come up on my deck and eat. He always had a grumpy
look about him so he started out with the name Grumpy. I never had any
plans of making Moose an inside cat, however, he became ill in the
winter after he was born and I had to take him to the vet and keep him
inside until he recovered. After having him inside I couldn't bring
myself to put him back out so he became my third inside cat.
Moose has warmed up to me over the last two years but he is still a bit
aloof. He does not like being petted unless he is laying on my bed or
on his cat tree. Sometimes when I head to my bed at night he will zoom
ahead of me and jump up on the bed to be petted. However, if my little
Tuxedo kitty Tinker makes it there first Moose will get disgusted and
quickly leave. He does not like to share our special times with any of
the other cats.
Moose has several nicknames which include Moo, Mooey, Moosey, Poot and
Poo-tay. (I have no clue how we come up with these names)
Moose's fur is the softest of any of the cats I have owned. I compare
his fur to the feel of velvet and I think his markings are also very
unique. His golden eyes are very pretty as well. Moose has
a web page
which tells more about how he came to live with me if you would like to
view it.
