This
is my baby, we named him Ernest after Ernest Hemingway because of
the love for his cats. As time passed his name extended to middle and
a last name since everyone in the family had their three names. So
there you have it, full name became Ernesto Javier Tafoya. Ernest is
part Orange Tabby mix. He's four years old going on five in May.
We rescued Ernesto when he was two months old in July of 2003; he came to
us with bald patches on his face, paws and tail due to mites. His ears
were full of ticks and he was just in bad shape. The intentions were to
nurse him back to health and find a good home for him. Well time
passed, and his character came out and guess what? He became a big part
of our family. He loves water meaning he doesn't mind taking baths; he
also drinks from the faucet. He does not get along with other cats,
thinks he's a dog and has made some quite unusual friends which he has
brought home with him from time to time (skunks that is). We keep
telling him those are not the friends we want him to hang out with, but
does he listen? I just have to make sure our sliding door remains
closed. He has a shoe fetish because every time we lay a shoe around he
will lays on top of it. He also loves knocking things off counters, so
don't leave your cell phone unattended because that will end up on the
floor. When he's bored we line up a few items and he goes about
knocking them one by one and having a grand time. The girls moved and
that room became his, it's funny because at times he just heads to that
room when he wants to be alone.
