Kind: Domestic Shorthair
Home: Yarmouth, Massachusetts, USA

Hi, I'm Zella, and I would like to tell you my story. When I saw my mum and dad one day at the shelter it was love at first sight! They wanted to take me home as soon as they saw me, even though they were told that my previous family had dropped me off because they could not deal with my food allergies. When my mom and dad took me to my new house I felt at home as soon as I walked out of my little cage and explored my new surroundings. I was very skinny then and weighed only three pounds. My parents fed me the vet recommended anti-allergy cat food but I did not like it and still had skin allergies. One day my mom stopped at the health food store and bought me organic holistic cat food. That I liked and I have not had any skin problems since! Now my fur is soft and shiny and I have put on five pounds! My parents are so happy and so am I.

They tell me every day how much joy and happiness I brought to the house and how much they love me. I am lucky because they spoil me rotten! I get ice-cold water to drink from the fridge (right out of the bottle is my favorite) and when my mom comes home at night we play for an hour and I run around the house like crazy. I love to be chased and play with my ball or my dad's golf tees. My favorite place to sleep is the bed or in my mom's closet- she even made a nest for me in the back with all her woolly sweaters. Sometimes I snore when I am in a deep sleep and then I wake up and my mom is laughing at me. When my dad is at the computer I like to come and help him with whatever he is doing. He spends most of his time reading stories on "Cat of the Day" about all the other cats like me. My favorite season is spring and summer because I can sit at the window or sliding door and look outside to watch all my animal friends in the back yard, the squirrels, skunks, birds and raccoons that come to visit. I am not allowed outside because many cats go missing in my area because of all the coyotes. My dad always tells me he loves my colors, especially my feet, because I have white paws and on the back of one of my back paws there is a single random black spot like a drop of paint. This he says is where they marked me when I broke the mold!

Mom here. If anyone is interested, I wanted to let folks know that the cat food that cured her skin allergies is Holistic Natural Feline Formula from Bench & Field. Before that she was given Z/D Science Diet from the vet but her allergies did not go away with that so we switched.
