Felix
weighed less than 1-1/2 pounds when we got him. He was eight weeks
old and very sickly. Something told me that I just had to have this
kitten. I doubt that he would have survived much longer. I thought we
could get him to eat with a little effort, but I was wrong. He had to
stay at the vet's for several days getting IV's to make him strong
enough to eat. When I brought him home, he was still very weak and
wouldn't play and barely ate. I talked to a friend of mine who also has
cats and decided that the kindest thing would probably be to take him
back to the vet's. Well, I think he overheard us because he rallied and
has become the most loving and beautiful cat I have ever seen. I call
him my "huggy boy" because when I hold him he will put one paw on each
side of my neck, and you can just feel him hugging you. He is very
bonded to our Golden Retriever who had a big part in saving his life. I
would lay him up against the dog for warmth, and the dog would lay there
for hours keeping him safe and warm. In the morning, Felix will look up
at me and it sounds just like he's saying "mama." Felix now weighs eleven
pounds and is a very handsome boy. He really is a very special cat and
has taught me to never give up.
