I
know Wellington is special because I can't find another one anywhere in
Canada so far. Just check out this very handsome face! We named him
Wellington, because I refused to call him any of the typical names probably
associated with a cat with white "boots" When I remembered that the English
call their rubber boots "wellingtons," I knew I found the perfect name.
He's pretty darn crazy. He shreds toilet paper rolls in the bedroom when we
don't get up early enough to feed him and tries to catch the cuckoo bird in
the cuckoo clock. He unhelpfully helps us to paint, move furniture or
anything else we happen to be doing. His favorite game is Zuma. He'll
watch me play while sitting on top of the computer monitor until he falls
asleep. When we are gone too long we find socks from the clean laundry at
the front door when we come home. He sleeps with us, usually on my
chest. He continues to surprise us every day. We surprised him today with
a seven week old ragdoll female. At first he thought she was a toy, because she
squeaked every time he jumped on her. The first time she smacked him back I
saw love bloom in his eyes. He's much bigger and doesn't understand the
meaning of "be gentle" but she'll soon put him in his place. She's cute but
I doubt she'll match him in personality. He's such a character. It his
hard too describe, but everyone in the family just loves him.
