Pedi
was rescued as a kitten in a rural Colorado mountain town of Guffey.
His whole family was attacked and eaten by coyote. He was the only survivor
and he has been a survivor ever since. He loves everyone! But that wasn't
always so. He was really afraid of dogs, probably because of his experience
with the coyote. He couldn't even handle hearing any kind of canine on TV.
When Pedi was five years old we introduced an Aussie mix dog to the family
and Pedi realized that dogs are okay, too. He and Bubba were best of
friends in no time at all. Now Pedi lives with two dogs, two birds and
three other cats of which our black cat Inki and he are little lovers.
Pedi was recently diagnosed with having a tumor in his spleen. He is older
and we had concerns of having it removed safely. His prognosis of leaving
the growth in his system was two weeks to two months! His prognosis with
removing the growth is two years. Our vet assured us that his health could
withstand the surgery and we decided to go forward. They were surprised to
find that this tumor weighed 1/2 pounds and his spleen was safely removed.
He is recovering really well. Again, those survival instincts have saved
his life. He is such a joy to our family and friends. We are all blessed to
share his kindred spirit. =)
