This
eighteen-pound hunka hunka purring love is Fremont - a/k/a the
Fremonster. It's hard to believe that when I brought him home to live
with me he was small enough to curl up in the palm of my hand. He's not
a fat boy, just a big cat with an exceptionally fluffy tail. I adopted
Fremont and his brother Larry at about the same time and the two of them
have been a team ever since. Last year I adopted Tucker, and though he
resisted at first, Fremont eventually bonded with her too. For some
reason Fremont prefers red toys - fuzzy mice and feathery toys, but he
will always chase a rope or long string around if the opportunity
arises.
As a kitten he liked to sit on my shoulder and although he is
much to large for that now, he still tries. He's definitely a lap cat -
when it's his idea, of course. In addition to his red toys, ropes and
strings, his favorite things include sitting directly in front of the
monitor when I am at the computer, ribbons and bows, sitting in and
shredding cardboard boxes, cat treats, rousing games of tag with the
other cats, and spending long afternoons out on the deck bird watching
and napping in the sun. He hates plastic bags, doorbells, and my
sister's Chihuahua-mix dog. He hides when visitors stop by, but
eventually he comes out to investigate and flirt. At night he curls up
in bed next to me and kneads, purrs, and drools to his heart's content.
He's my big love muffin.
