Our
cat Gracie is a long-haired, smooth dilute tortie. We adopted our
little Gracie in June from a family friend who was soon to move to Ireland.
Because of the long quarantine she would have had to go through, as well as
all that the time in transit, it was decided she would be better off with a
family here. We had met Gracie at our friends' home a few months before and
fell in love with her right away. Gracie has a lively, quirky personality
and is not shy. Even though she was surrounded by strangers at a party, she
walked around charming everyone with her green-eyed gaze and her general
good nature.
Since she's joined our family (in addition to kitties Oscar, Petey and
Sammy) we have found Gracie to be an absolute joy. She has quite a sense
of humor and loves knocking small items off of high places and playing
fetch with plastic water bottle caps. Also, she is a very sweet cat:
when I come home from work she is there waiting for me in the living
room window, then she greets me at the door by rubbing up against my leg
and meowing. When it's time to eat she goes into the kitchen and waits
for me to open a can of wet food, which she relishes. Then later at
night when I'm tired, she cuddles up with my husband and me on the sofa,
resting her head on my leg or snoozing in my husband's lap. We just love
our Gracie to pieces.
