About Us
Guinness, the Cat of the Day
Name: Guinness
Age: Five years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Cat
Home: Elkton, Maryland

This is my Guinness. We adopted him, so our other cat, Dandy, could have a buddy. We are very lucky to have crossed paths with him. I had searched on petfinder for a male black cat, with a great disposition, and had found one. I called the shelter, and that particular cat had already been adopted, but they connected me with Guinness' foster mom. She had rescued him from being a stray, and he had also been found injured upon rescue. She nursed him back to health, fattened him up a bit, and lucky for us, hadn't adopted him out to anyone yet. I am very grateful for her, and her kind heart. Guinness was only four pounds, and roughly a year old, when found, and is now a happy and healthy ten pounds adult.

Guinness has got to be one of the friendliest cats I have ever known, equally as friendly as his sister, Dandy. He is very vocal. The day we brought him home from the shelter, he purred so loudly in the carrier, that we had to turn down the radio to see where "that noise" was coming from. It was just Guinness, purring away. He adjusted to Dandy with no problem. Today they are the best of friends.

I love his short, sleek fur and his golden eyes. However, his purrsonality exceeds his looks. He is a gentle, loving creature, and I am happy to have him in my life.
