About Us
Nellie, the Cat of the Day
Name: Nellie
Age: Four and a half years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Lynx Point Siamese
Home: San Diego, California, USA

We got Nellie when she was one,
And it was the best thing we could have ever done.
Nellie is a beautiful feline friend; so sweet and full of love-
She is truly an angel sent from above.
She fills our days with nudges on our heads,
And sleeps with us on our beds.
Balls and strings are her favorite toys,
And she plays with them with excitement and sheer joy.
In summary, we couldn't imagine life without her for a minute,
'Cause it is a whole lot sweeter with her in it!
(Written By Mikaela, the daughter in the family.)

Nellie is a wonderful kitty-cat who has many good qualities. First, she is very loving and sweet. For example, she gives little head butts or as I like to call "Nudges", and she likes to sleep by you, all the while purring very loudly! She won't sit on your lap, though, and she doesn't really like to be held. Every time you pick her up, she will give a squeaky, angry meow! Second, she is really beautiful, with her gray, white, and black markings and her gentle blue eyes. Third, she is so very polite and walks with that "cattitude!"

Next, she is very playful. For example, I throw her balls and she chases them up and down the stairs! When she wants me to throw them again she will sometimes bring the balls back in her mouth! Also, when she is sitting on the ledge by the stairs, I will throw balls up to her and she will bat them! I say that she is a pretty good baseball player!!! In addition, Reggie will chase her and bat her and she will fight back with bats, hisses, and growls. Even so, he is not fazed, and he won't hiss or growl back. Once, he wasn't even near her and she was growling like she was holding a grudge against him!!!

Finally, her last good quality is that she is a very good hunter. She has caught quite a few mice before. One time, I came downstairs and there was a dead mouse on the tile floor! It turned out that she had killed it after staying up most of the night trying to catch it. Good for her!

Nellie has quite a few nicknames, like most cats do. I like to call her the "Queen". My friend made that one up because she walks with such "catittude". In fact, that friend also came up with the idea of naming her Nellie! Another nickname I have for her is Nellie Nudger because she nudges our heads so much!!! In addition, I like to call her Sweet Girl, Precious Kitty, Pretty Kitty, and Moo-moo head! I am not quite sure how I came up with the last one! My dad jokes that I should call Reggie, the other cat, Moo-moo head because he looks more like a cow (because he is black and white)!

I love Nellie so very much. I thank God often for her pretty face that I see every day. In fact, I don't know what I would do if I didn't have her! She really is heaven-sent!!!

I hope you've enjoyed learning about Nellie! My family and I hope that she will stay with us for many more years to come!!!
