Zorro
joined our family when he was a year old in 2002, shortly after
the death of our beloved nineteen-year-old tabby Murphy. I'd gone to the
Humane Society in search of a kitten, but couldn't resist stopping by
the enclosure for adult males as well. I was petting another cat when
Zorro reached out and put his paw on my hand - one look into those
gorgeous green eyes, and I was hooked! Zorro came home with me and his
new baby brother Einstein, and the two of them have ruled the house ever
since - joined by their new sister, Megan, late last year.
Zorro is named for a brave and swashbuckling hero due to his fantastic
black mask, but don't let that fool you: He is a serious "mama's boy"
and a bit of a scaredy-cat as well, running for cover whenever he hears
the doorbell ring! He loves playing "fetch" with foam rubber balls,
terrorizing his sister, cuddling with all his humans, and having his
picture taken!
Zorro is always able to brighten my day, and has a special spot with his
Mom.
