Saluti!
I am Giacomo Ghirardelli, and I have wandered into this home from nearby
fields where my kitty mama, nicknamed Ghirardelia (since she is a
chocolate Siamese) led me to the place she had visited on occasion and
found the food and shelter suitable for her baby to reside. Mama comes
by to visit almost every week, and my people would still like to have
her stay like me and be spayed and vaccinated. At first, I was just a
blur when I spotted the big people, since I could not be sure if it was
safe to go near them. After several weeks, my stomach got the best of
me and I wanted to join the other kitties at the home, so I made my move
to the feeder while the big people were there and after about two more
weeks let them pet me without my fleeing the scene. As you can see,
several weeks on I was the star of the show and like to pose for my
portraits for the world to see. The big people were surprised to find
out I was a boy, since they had been calling me Gigi. Now I'm still
"G.G." but I was given a proper Italian boy-name by Big Mikey, a friend
of my people. As you can see in my second photo, with the coming of
winter, my fur has become really long and thick, thus my recent
nickname, "Wooly G".
I have several adopted brothers and sisters at my new home, and they are
just starting to accept me, I think. My two new big brothers Homer and
Midnight would slap at me and chase me at first, but now they are
getting used to my being here, although they still think I'm a pest. My
new sister Pecky, a Siamese tabby mix, is very curious and likes to
play, but she has a mean streak and has bitten me in the behind several
times. If they get too rough, the big people scoop me up, doctor my
bites and give me extra lovies. I recently had to go somewhere called
the "vet" and he gave me something that made me sleepy and I woke up
later really sore in my behind, but the big people comforted me and said
it was for my own good and that I would want to stay home this way.
Ouch!
Now I have a new little sister who has started to reside like I did.
She is a tiny, pretty little muted calico and has been coming up in the
evenings and playing with me. Her name is Sugar Baby and I hope she
moves in to stay soon. She is very timid and will not go near the big
people yet, but I'll have a talk to her about the "benefits" package
(except for the part about the "vet").
Arrivederci!
G.G.
