Sweetpea is our little angel cat. She came to us right after our 17-year-old
ginger tabby named Maile passed away. We weren't looking for another cat but when
our niece introduced us to Sweetpea, we were swept off our feet with one look
at that little face.
We live in an apartment in the west end and our little girl loves to sit in
the window and yatter at the birds that visit and taunt her from the trees
outside. In summer, she sits on the balcony (under strict supervision!) and
enjoys the sunshine and keeps an eye on the squirrels and birds that watch her
very closely. Of course, she has the most comfortable chair outside, and the
most comfortable chair inside as well. She sits on her rump to watch tv
beside her daddy and especially enjoys golf and hockey.
At night she sleeps on our pillows and we, of course, wake up with kinks in
our necks but dare not disturb her. She also enjoys biting toes in the night
and it's not unusual for one or the other of us to wake screeching as she
darts away in the dark. She will only drink water out of glass bowls placed
strategically around the apartment and reminds us when they need to be cleaned
and filled. She enjoys the milk out of cereal bowls which has caused some
embarrassment when visitors find her sticking her head demandingly in their
breakfast.
She's such a soft little fluffball. She is our little princess and there is
nothing we wouldn't do to ensure her comfort and enjoyment of life every day!
