Hello,
My name is Laura. My humans adopted me in the summer of 2007 from a
Massachusetts shelter called Stray Pets In Need (SPIN).
At the shelter my human mom held me for a while and she still says that it was
instant love. That day my human brother and sister begged her to adopt me and
she agreed. They decided to keep the name the people at the shelter gave me,
but they also call me "Sweat Pea."
I am doing great and I love my home. When I arrived there was another cat that
was not too sure about me. But I walked in to my new house and settled right
in. It took the other cat some time to warm up to me, but now we are best
friends. We like to snuggle up on the couch to take naps together. I also like
to tackle him a lot. He is three times my size, but he lets me get away with
it.
My favorite spot to go to sleep at night is my human brother's bed. I usually
sneak in just before it is bedtime and I wait for him to go to sleep. He loves
me a lot, but once in a while he gets mad at me for knocking around his Legos.
In the winter I also like to snooze in front of the wood stove.
My human's au-pair girl from Germany claims that I look a lot like a Russian
or Siberian Forest cat. My human mom did some research and found that I have a
lot of traits similar to this breed. They call it "the cat for dog lovers"
and I am just like a little dog. I follow my humans around the house all day
and I sit patiently on a little stepping stool to wait for a treat. I love
treats! Who knows... maybe I am Russian royalty!
They also call me the "inspector," since I keep an eye on everything that goes
on in the house. I recently supervised the cable installation. I love to
play, and my favorite toy is an aluminum foil ball. I also love the laser
pointer toy. But I never seem to be able to catch that green spot!
Take care, and thank you to all the shelters that help kitties in need like
me.
Laura
