Buzz
came to us while we were vacationing in Vermont. Her mother was
dumped along with at least three kittens in the woods by our camp. Within
a few weeks, all of the kittens except for Buzz had disappeared... we were
able to trap Buzz and the Mama cat, taking Mama to the local shelter who
promised to have her fixed and readied for adoption. Buzz ended up
socializing with our two cats, Fleece and Omry - pictured with her here -
so she joined us and came back to California in the fall!
She has fitted in so well with the other cats at home... they seem to
enjoy having a kitten in the house. She plays with the older cats, chasing
them around the house, ambushing them as they walk by, and wrestling with
them. And even consents to a snuggle when it is time to rest. She's a real treat!
She is indeed a sweet cat, and gets along well with all of our many
formerly ferals. Omry and his twin, Fleece, who were both rescued and
bottle fed since about day three, are especially fond of her. She looks
remarkably like our oldest cat Squiggy, a seventeen-year-old tortishell
female. They just differ a bit in their facial markings. We know Squiggy
came to us from a school colony here on the west coast, or we'd swear they
were related!. By the way, did I mention that Buzz got her name because
she purred like a buzz saw when we first met her?
