About Us
Norah, the Cat of the Day
Name: Norah
Age: Three years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Maine Coon
Home: St. Andrews by-the-Sea, New Brunswick, Canada

Norah is a purebred Maine Coon and is three years old. We rescued Norah from the Animal Pound in Victoria, BC. She was found taped up in a box at the curb side for garbage. Norah lives in beautiful St. Andrews by-the-Sea, New Brunswick. We got Norah the same week my father-in passed away and our kitty, Luna, passed away from complications of diabetes.

At first when we got Norah, she used to hide under our bed and would not cuddle. But we knew she would soon enough. On the first night at home with us, she immediately took to Daddy and fell asleep on a blanket with him on the couch. The blanket soon became Norah's blanket and we put it on the bed on really cold days for her to cuddle. Norah has been with us for two years and we feel as it has been with us a lifetime. She is the princess of the house and all we have to do is look at her and ask her if she is a "pretty girl?", and she drops and rolls on the floor showing us how pretty she is. By nature, Maine Coons are very affectionate and Norah is no exception. Any chance she can get to cuddle, she will; any place, anywhere, anytime. When she plucks herself on us, it is a magnet to sleep and cuddle with a purring kitty. Every night she cuddles as close as she can to us and sleeps with us. She is fond of rolling around in the sun and prefers to stay inside. She has never been outside. Norah sits in the window and hisses as strangers pass by; guard kitty!

We love her to bits and cannot imagine our life without her.
