We
attended a fund raiser for our favorite animal shelter in 2006. We were
about to leave when they brought in the cats. We had to see them. There were
a lot of kittens and this gorgeous buff boy with amber eyes. He was so long,
stretched in out in that cage. Jimbo is an inspirational sleeper. He
stretches out as long as he can, rolls on his back, then tilts his head to one
side. He is a laid back kitty. He let us pet him as he laid there quietly
amid the barking dogs and loud music. Jimbo even goes to my preschool
classroom occasionally. He only has to in a carrier for travel. The rest of
the time, he is free to roam the classroom.
Laid back though he is, he is also spirited and often the one behind the
trouble. He is into things like the printer, mopping, cleaning, and gift
wrapping. He comes tearing up the stairs if the gift wrap drawer is opened,
and attacks the curly ribbon. He can be found just around the corner in sight
of whatever is being cleaned or mopped; his head bobbing to the rhythm. He
actually steps with two feet on the printer and stares down the paper coming
out. Sometimes he tries to catch it. He will groom or lay near both of his
brothers and he likes human laps as well. He is a sweet boy and still a
favorite at the shelter where he resided for three months. I would love for
the world to see this exotic beauty with eyes almost the color of his fur.
