Hi,
my name is Clyde. Because my sister and I had not been very well
socialized before we were adopted, we were not very friendly-lots of growling
and spitting. As a result, we were given the names of Bonnie and Clyde.
Within a month, after kind words, spoon feedings, etc. from "Mr. Mom," we
became very good kitties.
I am a Chausie (pronounced chow-see). I am a mix of the Jungle Cat (Felis
Chaus) and a Domestic cat. I am not as striking a mix as the Jungle Leopard
Cat (Felis Bengalensis) and a domestic cat. Because of my "mix" my owners
feed me the same dry food as small exotic cats in zoos are fed; and as a
result, I am in very healthy condition.
I have never been outside. Even when I would go on a trip in our RV my owners
would put me in a crate to carry me out to the vehicle. Because of never
being outside; when a door is open I just watch what is happening and never
try to go out. With not being outside, my owners trim my front nails and I do
have good manners when that's being done. I also like to have my hair brushed
daily. I'm very inquisitive and I like to watch what's going on around
me - I'm usually right in the middle of any project being done.
My sister and I are quite active, and we have lots of room to run and play. We
love to look out the windows and see the various birds in the neighborhood;
roadrunners, quail and hummingbirds are some.
All in all I'm a very lucky and spoiled kitty to be living with such a
wonderful, cat-loving family.
Clyde and Bonnie were my father's cats - the "Mr. Mom" Clyde is referring to. My
father loved these cats and socialized them as kittens. He was terminal with
cancer and even while in hospice care, the cats slept with him and he was well
aware they were there... they were returning their love to him.
