My
name is Dianne, and I own a cat by the name of Emma Green who is five
years of age and is a purebred Maine Coon.
My sweet Emma hissed only one time in her life (in front of me) and that
was when she was getting her temperature taken by the vet assistant. So
sweet and good-natured is she that her hiss surprised me. She is, after
all, a little homebody. She likes to lay on her back once in a while
(sometimes does it a lot).
My sweet Emma makes a cackling noise (as if I was a Bird) when I am
leaving for work etc. When she is hungry for canned food in the morning,
she will lick my hands and face as well as doing a somersault or two
before landing on her back looking up at me. They say Maine Coon's are
Gentle Giants as well as loving and sociable but she takes the cake!
