This
is my baby girl, Misty, a.k.a. Misty Poo, or Poo Bear. She weighs
only eight pounds compared to my other cats who all weigh around fifteen
pounds. I got her from a litter of four outdoor wild kittens. Her mother
belonged to a family, but the kittens were never tamed. I put an ad in the
local paper for a long-haired tortie or calico after my two-year-old
tortie died of aspiration pneumonia and the family with Misty responded.
She is very shy around strangers, but once she warms up to you, she will
not leave you alone. Her favorite toys are these soft fuzzy balls that she
carries around at night in her mouth while meowing at the same time. Her
other favorite toy is the red laser light. She will come out from any
hiding place when she hears the jingle of the laser light chain.
When she wants attention, she will meow at you and reach her paws up on
your thigh. Once you pick her up, she will proceed to scramble over your
shoulder until she is on your back. Then she sits there on your back and
reaches around to your face and gives you kisses. She also likes to sit in
the bathtub with the water on a very slow drip and she tries to catch the
drips as the fall by clapping her paws together. She is my little angel.
She has lived six years without any other shots outside of her initial
baby shots. Her body does not absorb the vaccinations and the injection
site swells up and becomes a boil, so we decided against any more shots.
She is just as lively and playful as her two kitty brothers and one kitty
sister (also a tortie). I love her and I hope she is with me for many years to come.
