This
is Livingston, she is a fourteen-year-old calico. When my daughters
were ten and four they found her starving, living off scraps by my
friend's home. They asked to bring her home and I said "If she will get in
the car you can keep her," never figuring she would get in. Sure enough,
she hopped right in, so I had to stay good to my word. We brought her to
the vet and we were informed she was about one-year-old and malnourished. We
got her fixed up and home she came.
She has ended up being the best friend to the girls over the years, laying
with them if they were upset even though she isn't much of a cuddler, and
giving us many good laughs with her uppity girlish behavour. She has ended
up allergic to fleas, mice and has sinus problems like the rest of the
family. We take her everywhere with us, even camping, she has traveled
many miles in the car, lying between my husband and I and even won over
his heart. My daughters are now 23 and 16 now and it is only recently I
found out that they had a cheese sandwich in their bag and had used that
as a bribe to get the cat into the car!
