This
is our cat Felix. We found Felix at the local Humane Society when we were
looking to get a cat, and we settled on him. They told us he was a year and a
half at the time, but we think he must have been much younger, because he grew
so much after we got him! He's a very special cat, and the only cat I know who
hates being petted! He comes for cuddles at 4am, and that's it. Any other time
of the day, if we try and touch him, he walks away from us! He can also be
very violent, and will attack almost without warning sometimes. First his eyes get
big, and the pupils widen until his eyes are almost completely black, and then
he pounces! He sometimes does this when he's playing, and it doesn't hurt too
much, but sometimes he's serious. He's given all of us injuries on more than
one occasion, completely at random and unprovoked!
We can't complain too much though, he's a wonderful cat. He loves to look
outside and watch the birds and squirrels in the tree outside the window.
Sometimes he chatters at them, and then he runs and hides under the window
frame, belly to the floor, ears flattened. He's hilarious to watch! His eyes
look somewhat brown in the picture, but they're actually a bright green color,
and they see everything! He doesn't like doors to be closed, especially when
someone is behind them, and will meow and scratch at the door until someone
lets him in. He also loves playing in dresser drawers, leaving cat fur all
over the place, and chasing a ball on a string around the house. Every night
at 10 o'clock, he comes into the living room where we are watching t.v. and
stares at us until we all get up, feed him his supper, and go to bed.
Despite his combative tendencies, he really is a great cat, and we love him.
He feels more like another member of the family than just a pet, and so I
wanted to honor him.
