Hi,
my name is Minky. I am about ten to twelve years old. No one really
knows. I used to live outside and there is a woman who would feed me twice a
day, all year long. I later heard that she could not take me in because she
already had two little friends and they were not very friendly to new cats.
After a couple of years outside, another woman took me in.
It was really warm in her apartment, really too warm and sometimes I wish she
would have let me out at least on her balcony. Two more years passed and when
my mistress went on vacation I would be taken care of by this woman who had
given me food outside. At first, she would come to my place but after a while
she would bring me to her place since her two little furry friends had passed
away.
One day, after my mistress had gone on vacation and came
back, she could not take care of me anymore since she was very ill. She asked
the woman who used to feed me outside if she would take care of me and keep
me. The woman was thrilled and so was I, because this woman lives on a third
floor and now I can see all that goes on in the street in front of our place
and in the back yard, there is also a lot of action, it is squirrel country.
Really keeps me busy. At night I even see bats flying around in the
summer.
My new mom has a lamp that looks like an aquarium. It's
really fun. When I first saw it I was shocked to see the fish go by, but I
soon realized they were always the same coming around, but it was fun anyway.
When my mom realized that I liked that, you would never guess, she went and
got me a real aquarium with real fish inside. Boy, have I been busy lately. I
did try to catch them (because I like fish) but unfortunately there is a
cover over the aquarium for safety reasons of course. I keep watching them
often. Who knows, maybe one of them will jump out ...
I love my new home, I am not freezing outside any more, I
have fresh and good food, I even go on the balcony in the spring and summer
and sometimes have a nap while my mom watches over me so that I don't jump
down. Oh, yes, by the way I was named Minky because of my shiny black fur. It
is very shiny because I am brushed a couple of times a week and that feels
goods and it is as soft as a mink coat, that is what I heard.
