Shiloh
was part of two litters of kittens who were homeless after the folks
who "owned" a pair of young sisters moved away and left them behind. The two
resourceful sisters weren't about to give up, though, and canvassed the
neighborhood until they found a couple of families to take them in. Ten
kittens between them were born about six weeks later, and Shiloh is one of two
kittens who have "adopted" us as their permanent human caregivers. He lives
with three other cats - his mothers and his sister.
Shiloh was the largest of the kittens and also the least adventurous of the
bunch. While his sister likes to chase insects and birds, Shiloh prefers to
recline on his sofa and wait for his dinner to be served to him. He enjoys
long naps in the sun and taking slow, leisurely walks around the yard. He acts
as the official household "greeter" and will walk out to meet new arrivals
before they get to the front door. He also makes it a point to replace his paw
prints whenever they are washed off the car's windshield - how is anyone to
know that it's his car if people keep washing off the paw prints!
Shi-boy discovered recently that he absolutely adores snow. He enjoyed jumping
into the drifts, rubbing himself on the bushes to coat his fur with snow
flakes, scooping the snow into snowballs that he then kicked around the yard,
making snow angels, and tackling his sister to push her into the biggest
drifts he could find. What a little character!
