I
was adopted as "Mickey" from The North Shore Animal League in Long Island,
NY on December 28, 2005. While I was there, I was a hero to all. I was a blood
donor to save the lives of some other kitties. After changing my name
slightly to Ricky, my daddy can't get over how much joy I bring him. I am the
sweetest boy. I'm funny too. Unfortunately, now that I took over daddy's
entire apartment, my new sister "Lucy" doesn't like me and is afraid of me. So
she stays in the bedroom, in peace and away from me. We do catch each others'
eye occasionally and when this happens, she just jumps off the bed and hides
underneath. Daddy splits his time between us because we don't get along. When
he's in the bedroom, I sometimes sit outside the door and cry a bit.
Since coming into my new home here, one of the things I like to do is scratch
on a round cardboard scratching disc with a ball rolling in a track around it.
I like to push the ball around in the track and watch it circulate. And then I
stop it and push it again. Sometimes, I just sit in the middle of the whole
disc and relax. I like to chase after this little red bug that shows up
occasionally. I get the most curious look on my face when daddy says, "Where's
that bug?" I look for the "bug". I find it but I can never catch it. I
absolutely love to jump up after a string when Daddy dangles it in front of me
or dragged around so I can chase it. I love to watch the pigeons outside the
bathroom window. I stand on the toilet seat and stare at them through the
frosted glass.
I love to sleep with Daddy and can't wait for my chance to snuggle with him on
the sofa. Daddy can't seem to stop taking pictures of me so I've gotten to
like it and became a clown for the camera. I ham it up all the time! I'm also
a goofball. I do the silliest things like moving my water bowl out into the
middle of the room. I eat my dry food from a 'lying down in front of it'
position and grab the dry food out of the bowl with my paw and eat it that
way. Sometimes the dry food ends up in the water bowl looking like soup. But I
don't mind. Daddy changes it and makes it all clean for me.
I'm a joy to have and Daddy loves me so much that he made me my own website,
Ricky's Place.
