Hi
there!
My name is Catastrophe, and it's a good name for me! I was found when I was
eight weeks old in the hallway of mom's previous apartment building. My
previous owners weren't getting along and during a fight they sent me and
two other siblings out in the hallway. I was lucky that mom found me and
immediately bonded with me! She loved me from the get go and refused to
give me up.
The next day they took me to the vet for a check up and while I was old
enough for my shots I was too underweight for them so we had to wait a few
weeks for me to fatten up a bit. I was the runt of the litter you see so I
was really skittish and hungry when mom found me. Thanks to her love and
patience and lots of food and attention I think I turned out pretty well,
for the most part!
In the nine years that mom and I have been together, it's been quite the
roller coaster. You see I've had some health issues; I was diagnosed with
Cardiomyopathy at my first year check up. It was not a good week, mom
didn't stop crying and we had to travel from Kingston to Ottawa for me to
see the cat cardiologist. In the end I was ok though, obviously since I'm
still around! I've also had some gastric issues which lead to the discovery
that I have food allergies. I'm now on a hypoallergenic diet which helped
me loose weight and feel much better now.
I'm not the type of cat to do tricks, I prefer to be my own cat and do what
I want when I want. I love the cat tree that mom's dad built just for me
(don't call him grandpa he gets really mad when you do). I love to cuddle
with mom; she's got the best lap for it. Anytime she sits I'm there!! She
usually moves me away since she's trying to read, or write or knit or
something but eventually my persistence pays off and she cuddles with me!
All in all, I'm glad mom found me and took me in, it's a good life and I
look forward to many more years with her. I'm well taken care of, well fed
and love my life. I wouldn't trade it for anything!
