We
picked out Beebee Doo at our local Animal Shelter in Manteca, California, from a
cage full of his yellow brothers and sisters, who were going with a rescue
group. He was only a few weeks old and appeared to be the runt. We've had
many cats over the years, and he is, by far, the most vocal and demanding! He
has a step-brother who is a year older, an independent male Rag Doll, who was
kind of stand-off-ish, but with much coaxing from Bee Bee, they are great pals!
After a nap, Beebee Doo walks down our hallway, crying as if to say, "I'm
awake now, and I need attention!". And if he is in the house without his
brother, his desperate cries are those that make you come running and want to
just love him! He does have his neurotic moments, too. When he wants to get
his brother to play with him, he makes a loud whining noise and rolls on his
back, trying to goad him. They wrestle and stalk each other, which is fun to
watch! He loves his toy balls, playing under newspapers, and jumping for the
feather toys. When he's hungry, he knows what his wet food can looks like and
he makes a, sort of, rolling chatter, something we've not heard from our
former cats.
My favorite part is that he is my loyal lap and "cold night cuddle" cat. He
and his brother travel with us in our RV and houseboat all year round. They
have a blast going for walks along the sandy beaches at our favorite lake
(leashed, of course). They love duck watching and moth catching.
And, as you can tell, he loves hiding in the flowers!
