My
name is Beau. I fancy myself as a reasonably handsome and very gentle male
feline. I began life among three other Chocolate Point Siamese cats at a
loving home with a woman and her elderly mother. We enjoyed our indoor lives
for a very long time together. Several years later, both ladies developed
some serious health issues and they soon needed 24-7 health care outside the
home. This was rather disconcerting for us cats, since the house's bank soon
foreclosed and we were in danger of being totally abandoned.
Thankfully a neighbor took two of us in to her home and took the other two to
a local vet. The two of us were at the vets for a few days but my sibling
soon went over the Rainbow Bridge due to serious diabetic complications.
Another neighbor (my soon-to-be new Mom!) came to get me from the vet,
initially to foster me until a permanent home could be found. My foster Mom
put me in a spare bedroom with plenty of sun, food, water, toys, litter box
and a very comfortable futon. My Mom already had two cats, Marble and Taylor,
the latter of which hissed outside my door at every opportunity. Marble just
sniffed at the door with no further comment. My Dad spent some time with me
in my room and even let me nap on his computer monitor in his room (something
the other cats were never allowed to do) and he became very attached to me.
I got to cuddle and purr loudly with my Mom and Dad just about any time. I
learned to enjoy helping my Dad read the newspaper every day.
Mom and Dad soon decided to adopt me and include me as part of their family.
I was let out of my room gradually for a few hours at a time so Marble and
Taylor could get used to my presence. After several months, it has all worked
out quite well now for every one of us. Taylor, who first hissed at me a lot,
now chases me around the house. I did not get much exercise with the older
Siamese cats before, so the playing with Taylor keeps me in shape! Marble,
Taylor and I like to take turns in the baskets in sunny windows and we all
love to sleep on the warm laundry that Mom puts on her bed. I have even
learned to enjoy cat treats and catnip toys. The other cats don't have baby
blue eyes like me but we all like each other and that is so nice. I love my
new home!
