We
welcomed Miou into our home a year ago after visiting our local RSPCA.
Among the many cats there, he was the only one still purring loud enough for
us to hear after we took a few steps back from the cages. We knew he was the
one at that instant. We know some people pass the older cats up in favor of a
kitten, but he had already won our hearts.
Since then, he has been the most affectionate cat you can imagine. When he is
not sleeping, he follows me around, sits on the computer keyboard or prevents
me from reading by lying on the newspaper. Typical, isn't it? Still we cannot
get too angry - he just wants to be loved and to love us in return.
Miou is not really of an independent type, he just loves being with people. He
has easily adapted to our human environment: opening doors or jumping on the
walls are part of the tricks he can perform. He very often waits by the door
when we come back from work and sleeps at the foot of the bed or next to it at night.
He is a playful cat. He loves watching us appear and disappear behind a door,
it is quite funny to watch him try to catch things half-hidden under the
carpet. He also likes it when we drag a rope around the rooms and he has to
run after it to catch it.
I must also admit he is partial to beer and candy, which I find really strange! He is a
very vocal, especially when he is hungry in the morning. It is easy to understand what
he means. Miou (mew) is a well-chosen name for this great cat!
