This
of Angel, one of a pair of cats I have had since their birth three years ago. We
all live in Vancouver, Canada and Angel is especially good at finding interesting places
to sleep: here in a bun basket in a window of my kitchen. Angel tells me she is of
uncertain breed but that it's all good. Her brother Charlie sleeps mainly on my chest
(when I'm home and reading in bed) and heaven-knows -where when I'm out working.
Angel is a beautiful but mostly aloof cat, very stand-offish until she's ready and then
look out! She arrives, plop, on the middle of your newspaper and demands immediate and
unconditional obedience. "Love me now." All this lasts for about five minutes and the
she retreats to whatever funny place she has found for today's 21-1/2 hour nap. When she's
insisting on being loved she demands head attention and being held... but for about ten
seconds. Often she disappears for a day at a time (better hiding hole to sleep in) and
the reappears for breakfast or a drink of water. Often she drinks from my water glass by
my bedside at 3:00 AM. She is the opposite of her brother Charlie who is constantly in
my face any time I'm home.
