This
is a picture of Boo Boo. He is a five-year-old Himalayan and he is blind. He
was a Christmas gift from my husband. He has been blind since he adopted us as a
kitten. His name was Smokey when we got him from a breeder. We did not know that
he was blind when we got him, so when he started running into walls and acted
scared and confused we started calling him 'Boo Boo' and then we took him to the
vet to see why he was so clumsy. Three local veterinarians diagnosed him as
totally blind and said there wasn't anything we could do but help him adjust and
now we don't rearrange the furniture. He now gets around really well, he learned
so fast his way around and where all the furniture is. It's amazing how smart he is!
I believe there was a reason why he adopted us. I did not get him to breed,
which is why most people get pure breeds, I just love all breeds as pets. I
don't think that anyone else would have accepted him and love him the way I do.
He has many brothers and sisters of all ages and breeds and they seem to know
that he is special. He is very loving and I am so lucky that he is a part of my family.
