I
would like to honor our beautiful little Esther. She has a very independent
streak but on occasion, she needs some attention, which we happily provide.
We came across her while living in Georgia. A friend from my church called and
ask if we would take care of a kitten her daughter brought home from school.
They were going out of town and did not have time to look for her a home
before they left. When she arrived, she just wanted to lay in my husband's lap
and he had wanted a 'lap cat.' When our friends got home, they said we could
keep her and let me add, she has never gotten in my husband's lap again! So
much for her being his long-awaited lap cat! Also, I found out afterwards that
a mutual friend had told the previous owner that if she could get us to take
her, she had a home. I kinda think I was set up!!
She knows no tricks but is very independent! She is not the dominant cat in
the household but one strange thing about her is she likes large dog toys to
play with! After six years, she has decided to play occasionally with our
older cat, too. I might add this only happened after we adopted a one-year-old cat who
frankly is a terror and hates the other two. It looks like we will have
upstairs and downstairs cats. In any case, we love Esther very much.
