This
is my beautiful cat Moony. Moony came to live with us two years ago.
We had already adopted a magnificent ginger and white long-haired cat,
Muppet, from our local cattery when his owner had died, and, a few months
down the line, the cattery owner asked if we would consider adopting
Moony, too. Moony had run away from two homes and, after his last escape,
had been living rough for several months and was found living in an old
tyre. Sadly, Moony had lost so much weight while being homeless that his
collar had become loose and he had somehow managed to get one of his front
legs through the collar and caused a massive wound in his neck and body.
When we first saw Moony, it was shortly after his operation to try and
seal the wound; his fur was very scraggy, he smelt dreadful and he was
covered in engine oil. When I first knelt down to stroke him, he came
straight over and put his front legs on my lap and started purring. I fell
in love with him immediately and we decided to bring him home there and
then.
Since that day, Moony has gone from strength to strength. He is a sturdy,
cuddly cat who loves eating and lapping water from a pint glass! He
is incredibly good-natured, and, like our other cat, has never once
scratched or bitten anyone. Moony likes to climb up your body and put his
front legs around your neck for a really good cuddle. He loves to follow
Muppet everywhere and gets jealous when Muppet is receiving attention and
always pushes in, ready for his turn. Moony has a beautiful girlfriend,
Maisie, who lives next door, and they play for hours together. Moony seems
to be completely at home with us.
