Hi,
my name is Dannon. I'm named for the yogurt, which my Person eats all
the time. I have to tell you, my Person and I really have a good thing
going. She loves me so much, and I kinda like her, too. I've got her tuned
in to all my favorite things and she knows how to interpret all my
gestures, postures, and sounds.
She adopted me from a Shelter about five years ago. At first she let me go
outside whenever I wanted, but one day I got a bite taken out of me by
some nasty animal, and that was the end of my going outside. But I still
enjoyed my new home. I was the only cat in the house, and I quickly
whipped my Person into shape. She was very obedient - except when she took
me to the Cat Clinic. I hated those car rides, and I let her know every
time by throwing up in my carrier and making quite a mess. But that
doesn't seem to have stopped her from doing it again. I also give the
people at the Clinic quite a hard time, too.
When my Person moved us from our home in Boston, Massachusetts, to Ann
Arbor, Michigan, I really loved the new digs! There's way more space for
me to run around, and so many windows to look out of. And since my Person
is now retired, she's around the house a lot more to play with me. I think
I have about 45 toys scattered all around the house.
I am one friendly, sociable guy, that's for sure. I greet everyone who
comes in the house; I'm not afraid of anything - loud noises, the vacuum
cleaner, sudden movements - nothing. And boy, does my Person love it when
I snuggle up with her when she watches TV in the evening. Then at bedtime,
I've trained her to accommodate me by moving her position so that I can
sleep wherever I want on her bed! I let her kiss me, hug me, head bump me
- it seems to make her happy. Ah... what a life.
