I
want to introduce my cat, Sassy Kauper. She was born at the
Bed 'n Biscuit Inn
in High Springs, FL, which is a pet boarding place. I had to leave my
older male cat there, while I was moving into my new condo and she and he
became best friends. When I went to pick up Tiger (who has since passed on
from diabetes) the owners asked me if I wanted her too. Well, I couldn't
resist, she has been a wonderful cat and one of the best hunters I've seen
- there isn't a cockroach around that can make it past her and her speed!
Her favorite toy/trick is a catnip mouse that she will fetch (seriously,
like a dog) but loves to play catch with it too - you can throw it from
almost anywhere and she can grasp it with her two front paws like a great
baseball player!
She is a total people person cat - and the Imelda Marcos of cats! She
loves shoes, rubbing on them, laying on them, anything to do with shoes.
She enjoys playing with her brother Sam and sister Streits, the other cats
at the house, but she is the ruler of the roost - not only the oldest, but
the best hunter puts her squarely in position as the Alpha female.
Her favorite activity this time of the year is to sit in the sun that
comes in through large sliding doors until I get home from work, then it's
out into the backyard for lizard and squirrel hunting.
