It
was fate that brought Maggie to us last September. We had been
pestering my husband for years to get a cat, but since three out of four of us
are allergic, he wasn't in agreement. On a family golf outing, to keep my
nine year old's interest piqued, my husband told him if he hit his ball to
the 150 yard stake, he could have a cat. We jumped up and down and Connor
proceeded not only to hit it to the stake, but a good 70 yards past (he
smoked it). Bob realized what he'd said and stated he was only kidding.
The next day at work, a colleague came into the office with two kittens that
she found abandoned on a gravel road about 50 kilometers outside the city.
two of her siblings didn't make it. As soon as I saw her, I called my
husband, asking if he believed in fate, and then begged him to bring her
home and see how we'd react to her. She's been with us ever since. It's
like she knew we were her only hope of survival. She is such a great cat,
very gentle, loving, and playful. She makes our family complete, and we
all (including hubby) love her dearly!
