Shy Guy is playful, loves attention, and especially enjoys watching bird
videos on the computer - if no birds are outside the windows. He cuddles
on our laps, taking turns to make sure he spends equal time with both my
husband and me. We adopted Shy Guy on Valentine's Day 2010 after friends
told us the heart-breaking story of his abandonment in a bitter Minnesota
January. We had recently lost our cat of 22 years and were unsure about
adopting so soon; but from the moment we met him, Shy Guy warmed our laps
and our hearts. He chose us, and we happily accepted!
Since then he has overcome the behaviors that earned his name. Shy Guy
used to flinch at every unexpected movement, but he has opened up, nosily
inspecting every inch of the house, choosing his favorite locations, and
becoming the prince of every patch of sun. He meows forlornly if he
doesn't know where his people are, but purrs contentedly when he knows
we're nearby.
We are content, too, to have Shy Guy in our lives.
